On Monday 6 August, Christchurch will host a selection of the finalists of the 2018 New Zealand Awards for Children & Young Adults, ahead of the awards ceremony in Wellington on 8 August.
These school events are presented by the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults, in association with WORD Christchurch.

Joanna Grochowicz - Into the White
Suzanne Main - How Not to Stop a Kidnap Plot
Sophie Siers - The Gift Horse
Alison Balance - New Zealand’s Great White Sharks
Gavin Bishop - Aotearoa: The New Zealand Story
All sessions take place at St Margaret’s College, 12 Winchester Street, Merivale, on Monday 6 August.

Session 1
When: 09:45am
Duration: 45 minutes
Fleur Beale, Joanna Grochowicz, and Suzanne Main will talk about their writing, creating their books, and will then take questions from students.
Session 2
When: 11:30am
Duration: 45 minutes
Sophie Siers, Alison Ballance, and Gavin Bishop will talk about their writing, creating their books, and will then take questions from students.
We recommend bringing students for two sessions, however you do have the option of coming to only one.
